I was tasked to transition a home from a family space for raising children to create a modern, clean space for an empty nester.
The home had good bones but lacked the drama it deserved.
We began by refinishing the entry walls in a hand waxed ivory Venetian plaster. This created an amazing luster that transformed as the light changes. For contrast, we added a coat of warm steel gray paint to the windows, door casings, and stairway. This, coupled with ebonized floors and finished with dark bronze hardware, created a perfect backdrop for a glamorous, yet warm environment.
Using a neutral palette including natural fabric, tonal textures for depth, pale fawn, and beige carpets, and dark wood furnishings,we created a clean and modern space.
